Meterologists say that whenever you have 3 or more consecutive days of 90 degree weather, that’s a heatwave baby!

And for the past 4 days in Portsmouth New Hampshire (Saturday-Tuesday) and other states around the country that’s exactly what we’ve been having!

A heatwave baby!

And it has been, excuse my french, unf*****gunbearable!

With or without air conditioning.

I mean a person can’t stay inside forever, they have to go outdoors sometime.

I personally have been suffering because of this oppressive heat and I know that a lot of other people have been suffering too. (I really feel extra sorry for children and the elderly during heatwaves.)

But I bet you your bottom dollar and I do mean dollar that the economy has been suffering too right along with the rest of us because of this heatwave in the form of:

-Numerous employee absences due to getting sick from the heat or heat exhaustion.

-Reduction of productivity due to people becoming lethargic or simply moving slowly because of the heat or taking more breaks than usual because of the heat.

-Vast number of power outtages from excessive use of air conditioning units and fans.

-Huge consumption of water use due to fires burning out of control because of the heat.

-Extreme damage and devastation due to fires not being able to be put out quicker because of the excessive heat.

Thankfully last night (Tuesday night) we had one hell of a thunderstorm in Portsmouth so today (Wednesday) the weather is warm but back to normal for this time of year. Halleluhah!

The only thing that I can’t rejoice about is that it isn’t officially “Summer” yet and we have already had a really bad heatwave that made it feel like it was August.

Oh well, what can you do.

When it comes to the weather we can’t tell Mother Nature what to do.

But after the last four days I pray that Mother Nature gives us a break for awhile because people let’s face it, heatwaves are not only hard on us humans mentally and physically but they are also bad for business and the economy too!
