One-hit tv show wonder, Brian Dunkleman told the judges on the finale of VH1’s hit reality tv show, Celebrity Fit Club that contrary to the rumors that he was fired from his hosting gig on American Idol he was the one who actually made the decision to quit the show.
Ever since his noticeable absence from the second season of American Idol, rumors have run rapid for about 15 minutes (because basically nobody really gave a shit) about the reason for his sudden departure, the most popular being that he was “too difficult” to work with.
(As if anyone could work amicably with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul!)
Dunkleman totally disputed the claim that he was “too difficult” to work with rather he claimed that the reason that he quit the show was because of the “deplorable” way that the contestants on the show were treated. He went on to say that leaving the show was a mistake meaning he totally underestimated how popular the show would get thus missing out on the fame and the money.
He didn’t elaborate or go into vivid details about why he quit American Idol which really pissed me off because I wanted to hear the dirt directly from the horse’s mouth, but I digress.
Dunkleman went on further to say that all he wanted was the chance to be able to work in the entertainment industry which means he has been unemployed since quitting American Idol and is appearing on Celebrity Fit Club to try to get some new hosting gigs going.
The one surprising thing about Dunkleman’s revelation is that I totally believe him even though he gave no proof to back up his damaging claim against American Idol. There was something about his demeanor and the way that he presented himself that sounded so truthful to me.
Even though i’m a big fan of American Idol, I can tell that there are shady things going on behind the scenes. I mean no show can be totally squeaky clean.
The sad thing about this whole thing is that it’s really a shame that only God, Brian Dunkleman, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and irritating metrosexual, Ryan Seacrest are the only people who will ever know the truth about Dunkleman’s departure.
Boo hoo hoo!
