What Exactly Do You Think Animal Cruelty Or Animal Abuse Is?

Just recently I was channel surfing on the boob tube and a program caught my eye.

The program was some kind of rodeo.

Two things caught my eye.

First, I was impressed with how fast this cowboy-type guy lassoed and tied a hog. (He did it in about 7 seconds.)

But on the flip side................

Second, I was a little disgusted when I saw the hog’s neck jerk violently back when it was being lassoed by this cowboy-type guy. (I felt so sorry for the poor little thing because having it’s neck violently jerked back like that must of hurt like hell! I’m so glad it’s little neck wasn’t broken! Not to mention, I know the poor little thing must not of been too thrilled to be flipped on it’s back and having it’s hooves tied together. I’m sure that must have been fun to the cowboy-types but not to the animals.)

In my opinion, animals are smarter and more aware than you think!

After watching the rodeo, a few questions came to mind which is why I am writing this article.

“What does PETA think of rodeos? Do they think that lassoing and tying animals together for sport is animal cruelty? Do average joes find this sport offensive to animals? Does PETA even consider riding a horse in order to lasso animals in a rodeo, animal cruelty?

“Please let me know your opinion, PETA members and average joes.

P.S. Part of me feels like a hypocrite for thinking that this sport is kinda’ cruel to animals when one of my favorite things to eat is bacon.

there is no dearth of extremely insensitive people around the world who has absolutely no feelings for life forms and their sufferings. the greyhound races, the bullfights and extremely cruel events like the rattlesnake roundup in sweetwater, texas are testimony to the fact that humans are the worst animals.

There is something about Texas when it comes to cruelty in all forms. It carries the highest number of executions, hold events like Rattlesnake Roundup, rodeo and greyhound races. Everything seems to be okay with them. No wonder that George Bush is such a bastard.

Hey...Tina, hmmm i dont think you have to feel whatever about eating bacon...cos...thats part of an industry wherein animals are raised for the very purpose of serving as food and so is the case of animals reared or bred in facilities that conduct animal testing...for drugs that are released into the markets for humans to be using them...see the thing is no matter how we justify it...its at the end of the day our decision whether we see eating meat as bad or good...and yes...hunting or poaching can be termed as bad acc. to me. Im not from PETA or attached to it in anyway...but i know what am talking about. On the other hand...yes these kinds of sports usually end up hurting animals...but this part i dont know..whether these animals are kept alive for these sports or...caught from the wild to be here...that am sure a person from PETA or someone associated to it could answer.
Hope my comments are taken in the right spirit.

Breeding animals for their meat is not exactly the same thing as darting an agitated and scared bull inside a ring by a few mad men with thousands of people cheering him. Eating meat is not cruelty to animals. It is a mode of survival. By and large humans kill animals less painlessly than other animals in the wild.

Love towards animals comes from within. It is mostly an inherited thing. If your parents had been compassionate towards animals, chances are you would be too. Making spectator sports by inflicting misery to animals reminds us that we are still barbarians.

The great Kurt Vonnegut said;
Life is no way to treat an animal.

So what do you say? Agree or Disagree?

I’m not gay, but I am an animal rights activist whose has been working on the rodeo issue for years. Rodeos are absolutely cruel. They kill, maim, and injury untold numbers of animals every year and we have an extensive videotape library to prove it. You can visit our website or our youtube account and watch the evidence for yourself, some of it as recent as last week.

It is a shame that some in the gay community have latched onto the rodeo as a way to show they are ”tough” to the mainstream. In the end, in my opinion, abusing the helpless isn’t good for anybody.

Thanks.
